It only took a few hours to get this one as right as it needs to be, but they are not Jack Hateley perfect. But then again, nothing will ever be Jack Hately perfect ever again. Well Crap...

Got some good runs in at Bonneville, but blew up the whole motor at El Mirage last weekend. Nothing like a good blowup after only 18 miles. But I guess Dale Earnhardt said it best when he said, "That is just hard racin'" My mag timing slipped while I was running 10 percent Nitro in Alcohol. It usually spins off the taper and just quits, this time it held on long enuf to rip my hard to come by piston to shreds. Also my right hand rod let loose and is rocking on the journal like a baby in a cradle. Oh well... Big thanks to Special K and Dangerous D for the crew work, you guys are great.

Strangest thing I ever found in a gas tank

In ten years of tearing apart and putting back together vintage motorcycles I have seen weird stuff. Drug stashes in handlebars, a few bucks burried in bondo, tampons and chicken wire used for body filler, but this one is funky. I thought, what the hell is clunking around in this gas tank? And here it was. . .

I think it was three years ago or so I fell off my skateboard at a swap meet and broke my arm, snapped the bone right in half, a three year old could have read the x-ray. A $20 dollar garage sale plank cost me about $11,000 by the time I got the aftermarket parts installed. I have not gotten on a board since. But hey, you should. Oh, but I did finish the swapmeet.

Yes, indeed ran into the roaming ragamuffin known as Nickoteen tonight at our local favorite greasy spoon restaurant. Nick and I both chose the Ribeye, although I think his was rarer than mine and he had a cherry on top of his icecream dessert and i only got whipped cream. Sounds Gay doesn't it. You may remember Nick as the guy who painted two of my three GNRS winning bikes. He freakin rules!!

He probably has the fastest street Triumph on the east coast, he probably sleeps with a five speed pre-unit Tranny conversion as his pillow, he is nuts about Triumphs and all that makes him A-OK with me.
