Legends of the Drag Strip

Rarely does one get to sit in the presence of legends. Wednesday nite, by trusty sidekick Dan and I went to a meeting of Legends. Arcadia is full of guys who sought thrills and speed "back in the day." Dan and I came away absolutely over the moon after having sat with Gary Richards, Ed Iskandarian and Sonny Scott. Here is author John Stein (more on him later), Ed Iskandarian and Sonny Scott. Ed needs no introduction, "Scotty" to his friends ran a dual engined Triumph as early as 1952 and made 150 miles per hour in the quarter on 95 percent nitro. I was so honored to be there.

Grand National Roadster Show...

Go to the GNRS at the Pomona Fairgrounds this weekend. It will be cool. The Salt Ghost was invited to be displayed with some super important Southern California Timing Association peeps. Ack Attack and the SpeedDemon are nearby. I guess that makes us super important too!! One of the Organizers told me that that was the first bike ever to be in the main building...hell yea!!

The Long Beach Swap Meet

It was good to be back after about a year and a half of absence or at least very sporadic attendance. Good to see some familiar faces and hang with the gang. Bought a shouldered alloy rim and sold a half a pickup load of junk/treasure from the shop. Best part was seeing old buddies, worst part was that fucking guy who just kept hammering me on the two tires I had for sale. I should have just headbutted him. Struck me as the same kinda whiney conversation you would have with a little kid that could not get his way...people are so stupid. Just pay for it when it is a good deal, don't keep grinding, you just sound like the whiney little bitch that you are.
